Pinoy outlet was started in 2010 by Alicia Losin. Having just moved to the countryside from New York City, she realized how hard it can be to get your Filipino groceries outside of major cities. She thought about how many other families were struggling with the same issue and went about solving the problem. Because no other Internet-based company was selling Filipino foodstuffs at fair pricing, she founded Pinoy Outlet. 

Her goal was to make the food from home available to all Pinoys living in North America for the same cost, if not less, than if you were to go into a market.
